1) If the
participant is not of the Catholic faith they should be
referred to their Church of faith for this celebration.
If the participant is a non-practicing Catholic, they should
be counseled on hat their faith intentions are for further
faith formation by the DRE/CRE/Deacon and/or pastor.
Participation in a parish Religious Education program for at
least one year is suggested in order to prepare for this
celebration.
2) If the
participant has received only the Sacrament of Baptism, a
Word Service should be used during the celebration as well
as counseling on what their faith intentions are for further
faith formation.
3) Parents or
guardians should plan to be involved in the preparation
sessions for this celebration by attending sessions with the
student and/or other participation designated by the
instructor.

year (May and October). Preparation in Spanish will
be offered in March if the need arises. All Quinceanera
celebration preparation is
done separately from, but in conjunction with, parish
Religious Education programs.
5) Interested
participants/parents must contact Quinceanera instructors at
least six months prior to preparation sessions being
offered. An interview will be given to each participant.
6) A fee of $25.00
per participant will be required to cover materials needed.
(If using Our Lady of Carmel Parish facilities, additional
fees are required. Contact office staff for further
information).
7) Parties,
luncheons or dinners associated with the celebration are to
be handled solely by the family.
